Spain and Sánchez are getting it right with Europe's largest share of women in parliament!
Pedro Sánchez, leader of the Socialist Workers Party (PSOE), has secured enough parliamentary votes to win a third term as Spain's Prime Minister.
Sanchez's impressive mandate began in 2018 when he replaced the then-PM Mariano Rajoy following a no-confidence vote. He subsequently won a second term in a general election.
In Spain, women's participation has gone from being merely symbolic - only 5% were women in 1978, and there was no female minister - to now being one of the highest in the world. This upturn in women's empowerment has seen Spain become the country with the most female-centric government, with many female ministers in Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez's cabinet.

It's only one of 13 countries in the world where women hold at least half the ministerial portfolios, and its national parliament is the third most gender-equal in the European Union.
It's long been known that diversity and incorporating a female perspective are essential for better results and for setting inclusive policies.
